Employment
There are no current positions open in BEARS...
BEARS will be hiring hosts to run WeDo Build Sessions and SuGO Tournaments in The Villages Regional Recreation Centers.
WeDo Build Sessions
Each session will last approximately two hours. There will be set up time and tear down time. Each host will be paid for three hours of time for each session hosted.
Each host will be assigned a "WeDo Travel Kit" that will fit into one or two plastic storage boxes capable of fitting into a standard golf cart. Each Kit will contain all the parts needed to host a WeDo build session. Each host is completely responsible for their assigned "WeDo Travel Kit".
Each host will need to travel to their local Regional Recreation Center once per week, set up for the build session, host the build session, and clean up afterwards. The host will gather tax deductible donations from all participants and relay the proceeds to BEARS for deposit into the BEARS account. Each host will rotate through the various robot build options, building 2 options per session. This allows for several build sessions before repeating the same robot build and keeps the time for each session to a comfortable limit.
Each host must own a portable device (tablet, smartphone, etc.) capable of running a Square Reader. The Square Reader will be supplied to and assigned to each host. All donations made from participants MUST be posted through the Square Register.

Each host will be assigned a 'SuGO Tournament Travel Kit' that will fit into three or four plastic storage boxes. With the number of boxes, each host will need a car to travel to their local Regional Recreation Center. Each Kit will contain all the parts needed to host a SuGO Tournament. Each host is completely responsible for their assigned "SuGO Tournament Travel Kit".
Each host will need to travel to their local Regional Recreation Center once per week, set up for the tournament, host the tournament, and clean up afterwards. The host will gather tax deductible donations from each participating team and relay the proceeds to BEARS for deposit into the BEARS account. Each host will reserve approximately 1.5 to 2 hours for building the Sumo Wrestling LEGO robots and 1 to 1.5 hours for the double elimination tournament. There may be Tournaments that may run a little longer than the anticipated time. It is incumbent upon the host to have time management skills to reduce the likelihood of this happening.
